FIFA has entered into a major digital partnership with TikTok that will allow fans to watch select live moments of the 2026 FIFA World Cup directly on the social media platform. The collaboration aims to make the tournament more accessible, interactive, and engaging for a younger, mobile-first global audience.
As part of the agreement, TikTok becomes FIFA’s first-ever “preferred platform” for a World Cup tournament. This designation gives TikTok a central role in delivering official World Cup content, including original videos, behind-the-scenes footage, creator collaborations, fan challenges, and livestreaming of certain portions of matches.
“FIFA’s goal is to share the exhilaration of the FIFA World Cup 2026 with as many fans as possible,” said FIFA Secretary General Mattias Grafström in a statement. “By partnering with TikTok, we are expanding the ways fans can experience the tournament in real time, wherever they are in the world.”
The 2026 World Cup, scheduled to run from June 11 to July 19, will be the largest in the tournament’s history, hosted across 16 cities in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. With expanded teams and multiple host nations, FIFA expects record-breaking global viewership and digital engagement. TikTok’s massive user base — especially among Gen Z and younger millennials — makes it an ideal platform to amplify reach and fan participation.
Through the FIFA World Cup 2026 hub on TikTok, users will be able to explore match schedules, ticket availability, venue details, and viewing options. The hub will also feature interactive elements such as custom filters, stickers, creator challenges, and fan-generated content, allowing supporters to actively participate rather than just watch.
In addition to curated highlights and live streams, TikTok creators will play a key role in delivering commentary, match reactions, travel content, and cultural stories from host cities, bringing a more immersive and community-driven experience to the tournament.
Traditional broadcasters will continue to carry full match coverage. In the United States, matches will air live on Fox and FS1, with streaming available via services such as YouTube TV, as well as on Fox One and the Fox Sports app. TikTok’s offering is designed to complement these broadcasts rather than replace them, giving fans additional ways to stay connected with the tournament.
The partnership signals FIFA’s growing commitment to digital platforms and evolving viewing habits. As more fans consume sports content through smartphones and social media, integrating live moments into platforms like TikTok reflects a shift toward real-time, interactive sports entertainment.
With the countdown to kickoff underway, the FIFA-TikTok alliance is expected to redefine how audiences discover, watch, and engage with the world’s most-watched sporting event.
