Samsung may be on the verge of introducing a groundbreaking addition to its foldable lineup—a tri-fold smartphone. A recent leak suggests the long-rumored device, possibly named the Galaxy G Fold, could make its official debut at Samsung’s upcoming Unpacked event on July 9 in Brooklyn.

As reported by Android Authority, a UI animation discovered in a One UI 8 software build shows a phone with three folding display panels. The leak hints that the device could either display different content on each panel or fully expand to form one large, immersive screen.

While Samsung has showcased tri-fold display concepts at major tech events like CES over the past few years, this is the strongest indication yet that the company is finally ready to bring such a device to market.

If launched, Samsung’s tri-fold would directly compete with Huawei’s Mate XT Ultimate Design, which was introduced earlier this year as the first commercially available tri-folding smartphone.
